The woman said the encounter escalated after she told the man she wasn’t interested in speaking with him.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A man has been arrested in Davidson County after he allegedly went up to a woman at a bus stop, grabbed her face and wielded a sword at her.
According to an affidavit, the incident happened on May 7 at a bus stop at 1210 Murfreesboro Pike. The woman told police that the man, later identified as Gregory Bohanon Jr., had walked by and said something at her. When she told him she wasn’t interested in speaking with him, she said he became mad and aggressively approached her.
At that point, she said he grabbed her vape out of her hand and threw it across the street. Fearing for her safety, she said she then pushed him away from her.
“The victim stated the defedant then grabbed her face, leaving a small cut on her lip, and then grabbed a 2 foot ‘sword’ from his pants,” the affidavit says. “The victim stated the defendant then swung the sword at her but did not strike her.”
The encounter concluded when Bohanon ran toward a nearby apartment complex.
A witness corroborated the woman’s details of what happened, the affidavit says, and both the victim and the witness were able to provide police with Bohanon’s name, age and a recent picture.
Bohanon has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
